What works for you may not for your neighbor.

As I am sitting here watching 16 & Pregnant on MTV, they are showing a girl who decided to give her baby up for adoption. Her aunt and uncle adopted the baby, and then she thought it was the wrong thing and went to get her baby back. I really hate watching the episodes where these girls are having to go through this pain of giving their babies up. It has to be one of  the hardest thing that a woman can go through. The pain, the emotion, the tears. All that is so personal, and they have millions of people watching them, and some of those people are talking bad about them after watching the show. These shows make me feel so much for these young mothers. I've been there once, I was only 18 when Mycah was born, I was single, and I did it alone. It was hard, but I don't think know that I couldn't have given him up. I'm glad I didn't. He is what makes me want to be a better person. Him and his brother, are my everything. Now, don't get me wrong. Adoption is the right choice for some people, but not me. There are so many people who can't have babies, and then there are people who shouldn't have babies. It's not my place to decide if someone should or should not have kids, but if you are addicted to drugs, or an abusive person or in a abusive relationship, do you want to bring a baby into that? Only you can make a decision on adoption and that's what needs to work for you. I am Pro-Choice, which does not mean I am Pro-Abortion. I am all for giving women a choice, after all it is our bodies and we have to live with the choices we make. What works for you may not work for your neighbor, or even your own sister. If you have to decide, don't do it quickly. It's going to take time, it's going to hurt, and it's going to take you being strong. Decide for the child, not for you, decide for what is going to be the best for them, not you. Decide because you  love them and want what's best for them.

Uh oh!

I am horrible! I'm sorry I haven't been keeping up, with school, work and the boys it's hard to think of things to be thankful for! But know that I am thankful for everything I've got in my life.

Catching up

So sorry I didn't post what I was thankful for the past few days.

I'm thankful for my husband Adam. He's my best friend and I am really glad to have him. Even though he drives me crazy sometimes, I still love him.

I'm also thankful for my children. They are the best things that have ever happened to me. Everything I do is for them.

I'm thankful to live in this great country that many men and women have lost their lives to protect rights we take for granted most days. Remember that Nov 11 is Veteran's Day, take some time out and thank a veteran for what they've done for our country.

I'm also thankful for my family. Even the crazy parts :-p

A new month and a new idea

So I saw my friend Caprice post on her facebook that she was going to post 1 thing a day she was thankful for, and I thought it was a great idea. So here's ours!

We are thankful for Adam's job. In a time when the economy's rough and it's hard to come by a job at all, he has a great job that will always be there. He makes enough to provide for our family and he enjoys his work.

That's what we are thankful for today!

Today 11/01/10 makes 3 years since Adam and I have been married! Yay! Time to change our ticker. lol

Update!

Sorry it's been so long since I've updated!
We moved into our own apt, finally got internet and I am going back to school. Lots of new things going on. Let's update by catorgory:
Crafts: I haven't knit my CPH yet, can't get gauge with the yarn I wanted, found another yarn I LOVE, but it's much too expensive to purchase right now, maybe tax time. I haven't really made anything since we moved in, though I have started and will finish in the next week or so a rag quilt. It's my first adventure in quilting, and I am loving it. It's for my nephew for Christmas, it's got Cowboys and horses and etc on it. I'll post pictures at some point.
/
New Apt: We moved into our new place on 8/22 and we love it! It's small, but it's ours. We just got internet Monday, so I am back up and running.

School: I decided to go back to school for my Medical Billing and Insurance Coding. I am liking school, though sometimes it's hard to keep up because of the kids and work.

Other then that everything's great! I'm going to hopefully keep up the blog.

Summer Crafts

This year Mycah and I are going to do summer crafts! Since Monday was the first day of summer we did one today, (I know it's late, but I've been ill) We made a stepping stone, it was alot of fun, but REALLY messy. We got the kit from Walmart, but there are tons of sites that tell you have to make plaster on your own.
Some of our next projects include: Ceramic Tile Hotplate (You take a 6x6 ceramic wall tile Paint the child's hand with the color that they had picked out, place on the tile, write the child's name at the bottom. After 24 hours, put a sealer on it.); Bird House; Painting a Piggy Bank; Planting a flower garden; and many more that aren't thought of yet!

Central Park Hoodie

So I found the most amazing, beautiful, perfect, awesome, did I say amazing hoodie to knit ever!! You can find it here. I've decided to knit it in a nice Rich Ruby Red Color. Totally not normally for me, I normally stick with blacks and browns, but I decided to go out on a limb with this one. Here's a photo of my color:
Pretty isn't it? I need around 3,000 yards of yarn to make the sweater, yes, I said THREE THOUSAND yards, that's 9,000 feet; that's a whooping 108,00 inches of yarn!!! Ahh that's alot when you break it down so far. I'm hoping to order my yarn in the first week of July, and the get started as soon as it arrives. I'll keep everyone updated on the sweater process with tons of pics. :D

My inlaws are leaving for LA Sunday, they're going to be gone from Sunday to around the first of September, and my SIL and her family will be here around the middle of July. We're having lots of people coming and going right now. We're still looking for houses, nothing yet.

The house hunt is on!

Adam and I have decided that we're going to skip the "renting rat race" and just purchase a home. I can't tell you how excited I am! We're looking close to his work and we have quite a few we're hoping to look at next week. I have so many ideas floating around in my head like do we want a 2 bedroom or a 3 bedroom? Or do we want a brick house or trailor? Yard or no yard? Big house or small house?
Let me tell you this house hunting isn't for the faint of heart, you fall in love with a house on the web,and then you go see it, and it's horrible! I found the perfect house for us yesterday, and we went to see it, it was soooo bad! The house had settled hard, and there were doors leading outside on all the bedrooms, the roof was bad. Ugh! Adam found a trailer with 22 acres yesterday, WAY out in the Country which is awesome! We can grow our own food, raise cattle, and pretty much homestead, but we have questions about it, and no one to answer them. Next thing on our agenda is get a Realtor so we can get in and look around these houses, instead of going around the outside.

In other news, Adam loves his job, really truely loves it. And I'm glad. Benjamin can now roll over both ways and is starting to move around and looks like he's ready to start crawling. We still haven't cut a tooth yet, but I wish they would hurry up!

Weight Loss Journey

I'm going to start eating healthier and working out. I bought Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred a while ago and never started it. I'm going to do that and try out ZUMBA. :D I want to get healthy for my kids and family. Adam keeps saying he wants to lose weight so, I'm going to see if I can get him on the weight loss wagon with me. I'm going to use the blog to keep track of my exercise and weight. I weigh 230lbs and wear a size 22-24 which is the biggest I've been when not pregnant. The biggest I've ever been was 267 and that was the day I had Benjamin. :(

I'd love to get down to 130lbs that is my happy weight (I think. I've never been that small.) My first goal is to lose 23 lbs, which is 10% of my total body weight, which when lost is supposed to lower your risk of Type II Diabetes (which runs in my family), Heart Diesease, Heart Attacks and alot of other things. When I reach that goal I'm going to get myself some new gym/workout shoes.

He's gone for a week

Adam got the job with the prison! YAY! He's going to training for 5 weeks, and he left today for his first full week of training.... He was gone Thursday and Friday last week, and it was hard, but I'm working on a routine with Mycah and Benjamin so everything runs more smoothly, and I've got an invite for a friend from church for a playdate this week.

On a happy note Benjamin's getting blessed next Sunday! I'm so excited, I think Adam's going to do it, but his dad might do it, either way it's awesome by me.

Cloth Napkins

I think we need to start using cloth napkins in our family. Why you may ask? Here's a little bit of a list cost less then paper towels/napkins, can be fun colors and designs, will last longer the paper napkins. I've got to get the fabric, and my sewing machine out, but I think I'll be doing that soon to get these off the ground. Here's the tutorial I'll be using. Have fun and happy sewing!
