What works for you may not for your neighbor.

As I am sitting here watching 16 & Pregnant on MTV, they are showing a girl who decided to give her baby up for adoption. Her aunt and uncle adopted the baby, and then she thought it was the wrong thing and went to get her baby back. I really hate watching the episodes where these girls are having to go through this pain of giving their babies up. It has to be one of  the hardest thing that a woman can go through. The pain, the emotion, the tears. All that is so personal, and they have millions of people watching them, and some of those people are talking bad about them after watching the show. These shows make me feel so much for these young mothers. I've been there once, I was only 18 when Mycah was born, I was single, and I did it alone. It was hard, but I don't think know that I couldn't have given him up. I'm glad I didn't. He is what makes me want to be a better person. Him and his brother, are my everything. Now, don't get me wrong. Adoption is the right choice for some people, but not me. There are so many people who can't have babies, and then there are people who shouldn't have babies. It's not my place to decide if someone should or should not have kids, but if you are addicted to drugs, or an abusive person or in a abusive relationship, do you want to bring a baby into that? Only you can make a decision on adoption and that's what needs to work for you. I am Pro-Choice, which does not mean I am Pro-Abortion. I am all for giving women a choice, after all it is our bodies and we have to live with the choices we make. What works for you may not work for your neighbor, or even your own sister. If you have to decide, don't do it quickly. It's going to take time, it's going to hurt, and it's going to take you being strong. Decide for the child, not for you, decide for what is going to be the best for them, not you. Decide because you  love them and want what's best for them.

Uh oh!

I am horrible! I'm sorry I haven't been keeping up, with school, work and the boys it's hard to think of things to be thankful for! But know that I am thankful for everything I've got in my life.

Catching up

So sorry I didn't post what I was thankful for the past few days.

I'm thankful for my husband Adam. He's my best friend and I am really glad to have him. Even though he drives me crazy sometimes, I still love him.

I'm also thankful for my children. They are the best things that have ever happened to me. Everything I do is for them.

I'm thankful to live in this great country that many men and women have lost their lives to protect rights we take for granted most days. Remember that Nov 11 is Veteran's Day, take some time out and thank a veteran for what they've done for our country.

I'm also thankful for my family. Even the crazy parts :-p

A new month and a new idea

So I saw my friend Caprice post on her facebook that she was going to post 1 thing a day she was thankful for, and I thought it was a great idea. So here's ours!

We are thankful for Adam's job. In a time when the economy's rough and it's hard to come by a job at all, he has a great job that will always be there. He makes enough to provide for our family and he enjoys his work.

That's what we are thankful for today!

Today 11/01/10 makes 3 years since Adam and I have been married! Yay! Time to change our ticker. lol

Update!

Sorry it's been so long since I've updated!
We moved into our own apt, finally got internet and I am going back to school. Lots of new things going on. Let's update by catorgory:
Crafts: I haven't knit my CPH yet, can't get gauge with the yarn I wanted, found another yarn I LOVE, but it's much too expensive to purchase right now, maybe tax time. I haven't really made anything since we moved in, though I have started and will finish in the next week or so a rag quilt. It's my first adventure in quilting, and I am loving it. It's for my nephew for Christmas, it's got Cowboys and horses and etc on it. I'll post pictures at some point.

New Apt: We moved into our new place on 8/22 and we love it! It's small, but it's ours. We just got internet Monday, so I am back up and running.

School: I decided to go back to school for my Medical Billing and Insurance Coding. I am liking school, though sometimes it's hard to keep up because of the kids and work.

Other then that everything's great! I'm going to hopefully keep up the blog.

Summer Crafts

This year Mycah and I are going to do summer crafts! Since Monday was the first day of summer we did one today, (I know it's late, but I've been ill) We made a stepping stone, it was alot of fun, but REALLY messy. We got the kit from Walmart, but there are tons of sites that tell you have to make plaster on your own.
Some of our next projects include: Ceramic Tile Hotplate (You take a 6x6 ceramic wall tile Paint the child's hand with the color that they had picked out, place on the tile, write the child's name at the bottom. After 24 hours, put a sealer on it.); Bird House; Painting a Piggy Bank; Planting a flower garden; and many more that aren't thought of yet!
